Plein Air at Cape Henry Lighthouse.
/Last weekend the Virginia Plein Air Artists group met up at the Cape Henry lighthouse. We had a good turn out of six, despite the military base restrictions to get inside the base. Some of us painted the new lighthouse, while others went for the old one. Since I had already done the new one the week before, I painted the old brown historic lighthouse this time. We had to leave promptly at 4pm. So it made for a speedy painting session with a mad dash to complete it as much as possible. When you have direct sunlight on the canvas and palette, it makes it difficult to judge your colors at times. It was a beautiful day to paint and I was in good company with Bernard, Shara, Mark, Sheila and Kathy.
