Bernard was warrior. He gave the fight of his life against the odds. Here he is with a Scottish claymore sword the model brought as a prop to pose with for our Norfolk Drawing Group. Of course, Bernard is being the life of the party. Our fearless leader and all the laughter that he brought to each session. Weather was not an obstacle to us when painting outside, it was a challenge to be taken, and it was always a blast. To the art world, he was very anti-establishment, us against them attitude. Bernard was fearless when it came to painting, his easel was caked in dried paint and the speed in which he produced work was incredible. I owe my career to him, because he was always challenging me to be better. Life was always hilarious in our tight band of art misfits. He was my hero, my brother, my kuya. There is so much to say about what a great person he was to all who were lucky enough to call him a dear friend. I just can’t write anymore because it hurts too much to know he is gone.

Ugh! Was in the studio trying stream the last touch ups to this painting thinking I had the mute button on while listening to a music documentary about 1971.
